One of the highlights of @theAGU fall meeting most years is the @NASA science calendar giveaway in the exhibit hall. Huge lines for the free paper calendars, one per person. So I was a little bummed that there is no obvious way to order one online this year.

@theAGU @NASA So I was looking at the cover of this year's calendar and it had this sort of hokey eagle-themed image, which I thought was a bit odd.

@theAGU @NASA Last year's cover was awesome! A kid stepping through a doorway of the imagination to the surface of Mars.

@kajord

@theAGU @NASA But I looked back and the 2020 calendar had a hokey eagle image on the 2nd page!

@kajord

@theAGU @NASA and so does 2018. A bit less obviously 'Merica-themed, with a stylized eagle that includes other national flags.

Back to 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 I do not see any eagle imagery (past calendars are available here: http://eospso.nasa.gov/publications/25).
So the NASA science directorate is on a 4-year run of including eagle imagery now that seemed to have started in 2018.
