As stupid as it sounds to say "Gebibytes", it's a tough argument to make that HD manufactures using giga = 1e9 is just a marketing ploy.

of course the implication of the prefix confusion is a built-in uncertainty of 7% anytime someone refers to "gigabytes".

and apparently it's "gibibytes" (GiB), not gebibytes.

but there are mebiybtes and tebibytes. But kibibytes, not kebibytes.
